Our Work Today

When publishing their main report in 2021, the Co-Chairs of the Independent Panel made clear that the package of recommendations had to be implemented.

The report could not simply be shelved, as many of the reviews and recommendations following past disease outbreaks had.

Today, along with active members and advisors, the Co-Chairs continue this work to realise a world where all leaders collaborate and invest to prevent pandemics and protect all people, everywhere.

Our Priorities

The Independent Panel’s advocacy remains grounded in the original evidence-based recommendations, which set out transformative, but tangible actions related to political leadership and accountability, sustained pandemic preparedness and surge financing, and an equitable end-to-end system for medical countermeasures.

Today our four main priories are:

  1. To monitor and provide independent analysis and insights on the global rules and systems for pandemics, including in times of response.
  2. To identify and championing new models for effective pandemic prevention, preparedness and response
  3. To building and strengthening networks working across science, practice and policy
  4. To advocate for highest levels political commitment on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response

Our publications

The Independent Panel continues to publish widely and across various platforms, from comprehensive reports and academic articles to media engagements.
